Accreditation of certification exams according to ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024 standards involves a comprehensive process of evaluating the development, delivery, and maintenance procedures of the exam. While uCertify certification exams have not yet received accreditation under this standard, it's important to understand that lack of accreditation does not necessarily imply a lack of quality or validity.

uCertify remains committed to adhering to industry standards and guidelines in the development of its certification exams. These exams undergo rigorous validation processes to ensure they accurately measure the skills and knowledge required for specific roles or domains. While accreditation adds an additional layer of validation, it is not the sole determinant of the quality or value of a certification.

As a provider of certification exams, uCertify continues to prioritize the relevance, accuracy, and reliability of its assessments. While accreditation remains a potential future endeavor, uCertify certifications maintain their value and credibility within the industry based on their alignment with industry standards and rigorous validation processes.

Under Department of Defense Directive 8570, individuals, agencies, and organizations within the Department of Defense are mandated to validate their proficiency in Information Assurance (IA) or IT security job roles. To verify this competence, DoDD 8570 recognizes specific IT industry certifications. Notable examples include A+, Network+, Security+, SSCP, and CISSP. These certifications are deemed suitable for meeting the requirements outlined in DoDD 8570, ensuring individuals possess the requisite knowledge and skills for their roles within the Department of Defense.

To be eligible for inclusion on the approved list of certifications, the certification program must undergo ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024 accreditation and pass through a government approval process. This requirement led to changes in certification policies, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ certifications transitioning from lifetime certifications to ones with recertification requirements. This adjustment was necessary to meet ANSI accreditation standards and qualify for DoD 8570 compliance.

uCertify certifications do not meet the requirements specified in DoDD 8570 for demonstrating proficiency in Information Assurance (or IT security) job skills within the Department of Defense. This is primarily because uCertify certifications are not accredited under ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024 and have not undergone the DoDD 8570 approval process.
